CounterPath Bria-Solo

This is a step-by-step procedure to configure CounterPath Bria Solo for use with a Simtex Cloud PBX service.

Bria is a powerful softphone, packaged with both mobile and desktop clients.

 

Multiple individual Bria Solo accounts can be setup but are charged to your credit card separately each month by CounterPath.
Bria-Teams is slightly more expensive but allows you to have multiple Bria subscriptions under the single bill.

Note – CounterPath subscription charges are in USD.

Set up a Voice Account

  1. Head to CounterPath and sign up for your Bria Solo account
  2. Click Configure SIP Settings


  3. On the next page of the wizard, enter the following parameters…
    1. Domain:
      bria.mycloudvoip.com.au
      bria.mycloudvoip.com.au
    2. SIP Username: your 214xxxxxxx or 7xxxxxxx account provided to you by Simtex
    3. SIP Password:
    4. Call Display: Your full name, or other name

  4. Click Next Step
  5. Enter the following:
    1. Registration Time: 600
    2. Firewall Method: ICE (Auto)
    3. Voicemail Number: 555

  6. Click Next Step
  7. Download your Softphone client
  8. Click Edit Configuration


  9. Change the Service Label to Simtex

  10. Under the Dial Plan tab, enter the following…

  11. Click Save and Close

Codec and Other

  1. Click Settings and Preferences along the top
  2. Adjust the Virtual Meeting Room region to Asia


  3. Click on the cog next to CODECS
  4. Untick options and drag order to select the following for Desktop, Mobile and Wifi:
    1. Opus
    2. G.711a
    3. G.722


  5. Click Close

Using Apps

Download Bria for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android here

Each user logs into Bria with the email address and password setup earlier.  The Bria platform automatically passes the Simtex username/password as well as other configuration items to the Bria software.  No other configuration is needed for the Bria software.

You can login to multiple apps or devices simultaneously, ie desktop, and iOS.  Please contact Simtex Support to ensure you have multiple device support enabled.
