General Configuration Details
Any SIP compliant device will work with Simtex, however you will need some or all of the following information:
- Your Account Number – Supplied on signup
- Your PIN – Supplied on signup
- Your Direct In Dial number – This is a geographic phone number that may be called from a standard telephone. This is an option that may have been supplied on signup.
- Domain/ Realm– simtex.com.au
- SIP Proxy – sip.simtex.com.au
Please note that there is no requirement for an outbound proxy setting.
To Make a Call
Every device is different, however there are two ways to make a call.
Standard Call – if you have credit in your account, you will be able to call any normal phone number anywhere in the world. If you call a normal phone number that has been supplied by Simtex, the call will be free.
The number format is as follows:
Australian Numbers - Area Code + Phone number eg - 02 93544000
International Numbers - 0011 + Country Code + Area Code + Phone number eg 0011 1 91 46642007
Free Call – if you do not have credit in your account, you can still use the phone however only to call other Simtex account numbers.
If you are having issues, please ensure:
- Your account settings are correct
- Your are able to browse the Internet (such that your device can get to our servers)
- Ensure that no settings on your computer or modem/ router have changed
- You have credit in your account (if you are trying to call a normal phone) – you may check this by logging into your online account
